AIS Takes Off!
An AIS display and management tool offering a large number of advanced features specifically developed for government airborne sea surveillance operations.
This enables positive identification of AIS equipped ships at standoff range even in zero visibility conditions. The airborne AIS system increases flight safety by alleviating the need for low-level flying. Patrol effectiveness will increase due to less time spent for identification. Number of engine cycles pr. mission will be reduced since identification may be done from patrol altitude, this also reduces the time spent in high salinity air, thus reducing the need for airframe and engine cleaning.
