Minister of Defence congratulates GateHouse on important contract

The visit of Søren Gade, Minister of Defence, at GateHouse coincided with the conclusion of a strategical important contract

The Danish Minister of Defence visited yesterday GateHouse. The purpose of the meeting was to give the Minister an introduction to the competences of GateHouse and to discuss the opportunities at the international markets specifically the US market.

Coincidently the meeting fell on the same day as GateHouse signed a strategically important contract for an AIS system to the Marine Exchange of Alaska. In future it will be software from GateHouse that will monitor the maritime traffic around the almost 50,000 kilometres of coastline of Alaska.  At the meeting the minister of Defence Søren Gade promised to do his best to promote the AIS system from GateHouse for the rest of the USA.

"In Denmark we are interested in worldwide safety at sea, and we know that the AIS system from GateHouse is proven and well-run as we use it ourselves. So I will promote the system to our American partners and they are more than welcome to visit us to see how it works. " said Søren Gade.

CEO Niels Buus said, "The contract is a very important step for GateHouse into the American market. We have been working with AIS for many years and have won a number of contracts within this area. The AIS business at GateHouse is a brilliant example of how a partnership between a private company and the Danish defence can generate valuable results internationally."
