Inmarsat, one of the leading providers of global mobile satellite communications, announced on August 19 that the third Inmarsat-4 satellite was launched successfully from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. (Read the complete Inmarsat press release here: www.inmarsat.com).
The satellite is the third in the I-4 constellation and together with the two first it completes the global coverage for Inmarsat's BGAN (Broadband Global Area Network ) services, which are mobile satellite services allowing transfer of large amount of data for e.g.internet access, video conferencing etc.
At GateHouse the completion of the BGAN netwok has been awaited as it is likely to open for the possibility of new sales of BGAN software. GateHouse has with is decade-long action in the BGAN business a line of proven and mature products to serve players in the market for mobile satellite services.
